The Nigerian Universities E-Learning Program is a Public Private Partnership between Park Associates E-Learning Group, a private education and technology services company, the National Universities Commission (NUC) a government agency under the Federal Ministry of Education, and four federal universities (this number is expected to grow).
Park Associates Group is providing private sector expertise in digital learning and publishing while NUC performs its role as the regulatory agency, ensuring adherence to quality standards. The goal of the partnership is to provide new opportunities for students to access university education through e-learning.
NUC is leveraging private resources in order to deploy educational products and services, thus opening up the way for Nigerian universities to enter the e-learning sector. Top global institutions such as MIT, Oxford, Stanford, Yale, and others are taking full advantage of online technology to extend their brand beyond their geographic areas and offer quality education at a distance, thereby breaking the remaining barriers to education caused by space, time and location.
Park Associates E-Learning Group brings high-level expertise to the table in partnership with Pearson, an education publishing and assessment global company operating in 70 countries including Nigeria. Pearson owns leading educational media brands including Addison–Wesley, eCollege, Fronter, Longman, Penguin Readers, Prentice Hall and Financial Times Press.
